The establishment of Besut District Council is to provide all town and socio-economic facilities to residents in the council area towards improving their standard of living through the following objectives:-

To provide basic facilities such as infrastructural and town service facilities.

To set up plans and development of structured settlement areas in line with the town planning principles.

To supervise the cleanliness and beauty of the town and health.

To carry out socio-economic activities such as opening up business centers to improve the status of small scale retailers.
